The Black Alumni Council Scholarship Fund

The BAC works with the Columbia College Fund to raise money for the Black Alumni Council Scholarship Fund (BACSF) to annually provide five or more $10,000 undergraduate scholarships for students enrolled in Columbia College or the Fu Foundation School of Engineering and Applied Science.

These scholarships reduce the burden on very capable undergraduate students that otherwise might experience gaps or hardships to affording a Columbia education. Financial aid administrators select worthy candidates and provide the names and minimal biographical information of recipients annually to BAC.

BAC scholars and leaders are invited each year to the Dean’s Scholarship Reception, enabling hundreds of donors and scholarship recipients to meet and inspire each other.

BAC previously completed a five-year matching funds campaign to raise $200,000 to endow the BAC Scholarship Fund. Despite the endowment, the annual current-use scholarship campaign is essential to continue support for undergraduate education.
